Maytag also had an international division called DOMICOR. This was set up in 1988, but the name was changed to Maytag International, inc. in 1992. This Part of the company eventually dealt with all of Maytag's international ventures, including Maytag Australia, Maytag Commercial (Mexico), Maytag Canada, and Maytag UK. The base for Maytag International, inc. was Schaumburg in Illinois and its network extended to over 70 countries across the globe.When Maytag was acquired by the Whirlpool Corporation it had fourteen manufacturing plants across the United States and Mexico.
