Miele is a German manufacturer of domestic appliances, both in and out of the kitchen. The family- owned company was founded over a century ago by Carl Miele and the company has remained in the hands of the family ever since.

Miele's motto is "immer besser", which is German for "forever better." Despite the company being founded in 1899, we have only really seen Miele domestic products in UK since the 1960s when Rudolf Miele commissioned the set up of a sales ad marketing subsidiary in this country.

Miele today is a global brand, although most of its staff and resources can still be located in Germany. These days, Miele employs around fifteen thousand staff of which eleven thousand are in Germany and four thousand are scattered around the rest of the world. Wherever the staff are based though, they all contribute in some way to the five million domestic appliances produced by the company every year of which 70% are sold abroad and not in Germany.

Miele has a great reputation as a manufacturer of quality appliances, which was emphasised further this year by its success in the Which? Awards, bagging the award for the Best Domestic Appliance Brand for the second year in a row. Miele scored the most Which? Best Buys than any other brand across ten domestic appliances groups. Miele got twenty two Best Buys in total.

Miele is definitely not a company that likes to keep quiet about their appliances and have showcased their products at shows such as the London Fashion Weekend (2008), Grand Designs Live in Birmingham (2008), The Wine Show in Islington (2008) and have had Miele products rated by Reevoo readers as part of a "perfect kitchen."

As well as glamorous shows and fancy fashion weekends, Miele has received numerous awards for quality and customer care in the last year alone. Miele was voted number one for customer service in August this year (2008) winning the Miele company the nationwide Domestic & General Total Excellence and Quality (TEQ) award for 2008.

Miele's most recent range of products is the Generation 5000 range. They are designed to fit together perfectly and come in a rage of sleek and sophisticated finishes. These products are available in a Titanium finish, which is used in aviation and motor racing. The Generation 5000 appliances re the first products from Miele to be available in a Titanium finish. Other finishes available with the Generation 5000 range are Cleansteel, which resists marks made from fingerprints and requires very little cleaning, Aluminium, which has a whiter metal finish and also resists fingerprint marks, Black to fit in perfectly with darker kitchen styles, and Bright White to fit in well with other whte appliances that you may have in your home. Whichever finish you choose, all of Miele appliances come with loads of features designed for style and convenience.
