Cooker Hood Filters

Cooker hood filters are very important in each and every kitchen. They are the things the things that are located above our stoves in the kitchen. The filters capture the vapor and odor from your food and gives out clean air without the things that it went in with. Your manual should tell you the type and size of the filter that will go well with your hood. The filters can either be a charcoal filter or a grease filter.

You should go for the charcoal filter if you usually cook food that is heavily spiced or you will be using the cooker for commercial use. This is so because these filters are perfect for controlling strong odors and are necessary for any type of hood system that does not cycle the air out of your living room. It will also present you with the best result if your hood filters the air and then releases it back into your house. They should be changed after every 12 months.

The grease filter filters the greasy vapor out of the air as they float up from the stove top and stops them from flowing back into the air that you are breathing. By doing so, it can help reduce the amount of allergens and irritants in your home and this will help keep your air clean and healthy. They also prevent the built up of grease in the cooker hood, hence reducing the risk of fire through fat build up. They should be changed every six months or when the indicator stripes on your grease filters change color to red. Grease filters can be made of aluminum, stainless steel or fleece material. Metal filters will need to be washed regularly while the fleece filters are disposable and will need to be replaced after a couple of months.
