Fridges

Fridge is another name for a refrigerator. It is a cooling and freezing device for substances like food medicines etc. that are easily perishable. It preserves them from bacterial and other infections. A fridge normally uses temperature above water freezing level. The main components of this device are a thermally insulated compartment and also a heat pump. It provides the coolness inside the fridge, when the heat pump radiates the heat from within it and pushes it out of it. Thus the cooling process starts. Fridges are  available in different shades.

There are several types available. Such as bar fridge, that are miniature fridges with small section of freezer facility is available. They are apt for a single person use or it can be used in cars etc.; wine fridge, which is a typical one used to store and preserve wine for longer periods; industrial fridge, which is larger in size and is commonly referred to in a hotel, restaurants or for a family with several members; side to side fridge which has fridge and freezer operating side to side to each other etc. Side to side fridges and industrial fridges are more expensive when compared to the others. Now even frost free fridges are also available.

In a typical one, we may find the frost that forms around the coils that cool the freezer.  If we let it build up long enough, it can get thicker and this would eventually lead to a situation wherein there is no place to put anything therein. A frost free refrigerator solves this problem. It heats up the coils on a timed cycle. Through – the door – icemaker and water dispenser is another type which is also popular one. Another type preferred is the top freezer refrigerator.
