Cookers Hobs
The hob is the most important part of the cooker. If your cooker hob is not functioning well, you will not surely be able to cook any meal. As it stands, if your hob is damaged or spoilt, it means that your cooker is actually dead.
Cooker hobs are available in very many varieties and the way they function varies from one cooker to another. Moreover, their efficiency level varies from one type of cooker hob to another. Depending on your needs and preferences, you have the following types to choose from.
Induction hobs blend modern technology with efficiency and more safety. Instead of heating a cooking vessel directly, an induction cooker causes the cooking vessel to heat through electromagnetic induction. This is a more efficient method of heat transfer where there is minimal heat loss thus leading to more precise cooking results. However, you should make sure that your cooking vessel is made from a ferromagnetic material or because other materials will not be able to work with an induction hob.
Electric cooker hobs are powered by electricity and are the second most popular type of hobs after gas burners. They are a bit cheaper to operate and maintain since electricity is a relatively cheap source of energy. One thing you need to note when cooking using an electric hob is that they work best with flat base cooking utensils. This is because flat cooking utensils can be heated much more evenly and quickly than curved base counterparts. The only disadvantage of electric hobs is that they wear out much more easily especially if proper care is not taken on them.
Ceramic hobs are the other available type that you can choose from. The main advantage of a ceramic cooker is its efficiency and durability. They last much longer compared to other types of cooker hobs.
