Refrigerators

A refrigerator is also known as a fridge. It is basically a cooling appliance. It comprises of a thermally insulated compartment and a heat pump. It is the heat pump that radiates the heat from it to the external environment and thereby, cooling the contents in it.  Refrigerators are normally used for storing food for preserving it from fungal and bacterial infections. They are also used to preserve medicines and such other easily perishable substances.

They are available in different model, colour and style. Mostly they are rectangular in shape. A refrigerator normally maintains a temperature above the freezing point of water. Whereas on the other hand a freezer maintains temperature below the freeing point of water. The preferred temperature is about 35 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit or 1.7 to 3.3 degree Celsius. If it goes above may spoil too quickly. Anything lower to this will cause several freezing problems.

One of the latest models of it is the side by side refrigerators. It has large freezer capacity. It also has a convenient configuration. They are most popular refrigerator models. Most manufacturers of this model offers a through – the door – icemaker and water dispenser. Another type is the top- freezer refrigerator. They are the next most popular model. They have small freezer compartment and the freezer is at the eye level and it places the refrigerator at the bottom or lower level. The bottom freezer refrigerator is yet another latest model. They are most energy efficient. It keeps the refrigerator portion at the eye level and the freezer moves to its bottom.  It comes in several colours like white, black, bisque or beige, stainless steel or its alternative known as satina, which is cheaper. It is easier to maintain also when compared to the stainless steel alternative.
